Low voltage equipment as well as automation system of cupola furnace including ancillary plants ( charging, heating system, ferro alloy, water treatment ) were fully renewed at Duktus foundry in Wetzlar.
Furthermore new cable routes had to be designed and built to replace the wiring of all field devices.
The main retrofit was made within a two week summer-standstill after executing several preassemblies and start-ups at production-free weekends before.
